The Holly Springs Fire Chief recently led a guided tour of the city’s Fire Station, offering an inside look at daily operations, emergency response readiness, and the equipment firefighters rely on to keep residents safe.
During the walkthrough, attendees viewed the apparatus bay, turnout gear storage, and training areas, while learning how calls are dispatched and prioritized. The Chief highlighted the department’s focus on quick response times, ongoing training, and community education—especially fire prevention, smoke alarm checks, and emergency preparedness.

The visit also underscored how modern tools—like updated radios, thermal imaging cameras, and lifesaving medical kits—support firefighters on scene. Station staff emphasized the importance of working smoke detectors, clear house numbers, and family escape plans to improve outcomes during emergencies.

Sam’s Coopwood Park
Sunshine, big kicks, and bigger smiles defined this year’s Annual Kickball Tournament at Sam’s Coopwood Park (880 HWY 4 East). Starting at 3:00 PM and rolling “until,” families, friends, and neighbors packed the baselines to cheer on community teams in a day that showcased Holly Springs spirit at its best.
Flavor in every inning
Food trucks kept everyone fueled, including Momma Ann’s, Fresh Out the Water, Chinya, and more. From savory plates to cool treats, vendors delivered a true taste of Holly Springs between innings.
A free, family-friendly tradition
With [estimated attendance, e.g., “several hundred”] in the park, this free event offered something for all ages—open green space for kids, reconnecting with friends for adults, and a shared sense of hometown pride for everyone.

The experience provided valuable insight into the day-to-day environment of Holly Springs, including business locations, public spaces, and community resources. This knowledge will help the Chamber in identifying ways to support local businesses, improve safety, and encourage economic development.
The Chamber plans to use the insights gained from the experience to guide future projects and potential partnerships with the City of Holly Springs.

The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) recently met with Mayor Sidney Person of Potts Camp, to discuss opportunities for a potential partnership that could benefit both the business community and local residents.
While no formal agreement has yet been signed, the meeting served as an important step toward fostering collaboration between the Chamber and the Town of Potts Camp. Discussions centered on ways to connect local businesses, expand resources, and encourage initiatives that could boost economic growth and community engagement.
Until an official commitment letter is received, the partnership will remain under consideration. However, both parties expressed optimism about the future and the possibilities that lie ahead.

The event not only provided much-needed materials for students as they prepare for the school year, but also reinforced the community’s commitment to standing against bullying and supporting youth. The collaborative effort between city officials, public safety leaders, and nonprofit organizations reflects Holly Springs’ dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for its residents.
